Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and Invesco Trimark Use Sphere Connect™ to Securely Process Online Donations and Provide Bilingual Confirmations

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada is the leading child and youth serving organization providing mentoring programs across the country, providing support to more than 1,000 Canadian communities in more than 140 local agencies offering the service the organization was founded on: one-to-one matching. Men and women (age 18 or older) give of their time to become a mentor a young person who can greatly benefit from having an adult role model to look up to. For over 80 years, the Big Brothers Big Sisters program has made a difference in the lives of young people by providing a friend where one is needed.

The Challenge:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada wanted to work with Invesco Trimark, a Blackbaud partner, to use their existing login-protected form to accept registrations for their annual event, but needed a secure payment processor.
• When supporters registered for the event, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada needed to be able to generate a Canadian-law-compliant PDF tax receipt and support bilingual confirmations.

The Solution:

• Invesco Trimark developers used the Sphere Connect™ APIs to transfer payment information to a form in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s Blackbaud Sphere™ account.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s Sphere account provided PCI-compliant payment processing with confirmations in English and French and generated PDF tax receipts.

The Results:

• Funds were securely processed on the corporation’s form and deposited directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
• All 3,000 successfully registered participants collected their language-appropriate tax receipt confirmation.
• More than $75,000 (CAN) was raised in four months.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada realized eight percent administrative cost savings, which were directed back to the agencies through the event.
