Simon Wiesenthal Center Simon Wiesenthal Center Increases Online Giving 39 Percent
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is an international Jewish human rights organization dedicated to generating change through the Snider Social Action Institute and education by confronting anti-Semitism, hate, and terrorism; promoting human rights and dignity; standing with Israel; defending the safety of Jews worldwide; and teaching the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations.
The Challenge:
- The Simon Wiesenthal Center needed a software vendor that could support its strategic online revenue goals.
- The Center wanted to allow members to sign up for memberships and complete their renewals online.
- Staff members at the organization also wanted to optimize the Center's online presence and back-end infrastructure to improve list-building and online fundraising capabilities.
The Solution:
- The Simon Wiesenthal Center collaborated with the strategic consulting and online development teams at Zuri Group, a Blackbaud partner. Together, they developed strategies to enhance fundraising, communications, holiday and current-event campaigns, list building, integrated offline and online development, SEO/SEM, advocacy, and marketing.
- Blackbaud provided a complete solution that supports the Center's four main web properties (the Center, the Museum of Tolerance, Finding Our Families, and Moriah Films) and provided online solutions for email, eStore, membership, advocacy, and donations.
The Results:
- The organization raised more than $180,000 online — a 39 percent increase from 2006 to 2007 and raised an additional $212,000 online from the new Israel Emergency Fund.
- The Center achieved number one rankings on Google®, Yahoo!®, and MSN® for keywords.
- The Center saw a 22 percent increase in advocacy actions taken from 2006 to 2007.
- The organization experienced a contact list growth of 30 percent from 2006 to 2007 highlighted by a 25 percent conversion rate using “Spread the Word.”
