Community Grants

In the mid-1990s, we established The Blackbaud Fund at the Coastal Community Foundation. Our goal – then and now – is to make a positive impact in the community. Through this fund, we make grants to organizations in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, where we are headquartered, focusing on education for disadvantaged youth. 
  
From the very beginning, we have turned to our employees to determine how the funding is distributed. Service on the grants committee is an honor, a way to get an up-close look at the issues in the community and those who dedicate their lives to making a difference.

The Coastal Community Foundation serves as our philanthropic partner in this effort, administering the fund and advising the committee on the grant-making process. They draw on their deep knowledge of the Lowcountry to help the committee match our dollars with nonprofits’ ability to deliver meaningful change. 

Over the past decade, more than 40 nonprofit organizations have received grants from The Blackbaud Fund, including:

• South Eastern Wildlife and Environment Education Association
• Communities in Schools of Charleston
• WINGS for Kids
• Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding
